MICROCHIPPING Microchipping is a very important part of Warrington Animal Welfares ethos. We work within our local community promoting it along with neutering, and often microchip for free or a donation to help us continue our work. Microchipping enables lost dogs to find their owners, stolen dogs to be returned to their rightful owners and also allows us to find out more about the stray that is no longer wanted. Warrington Animal Welfare work very closely with the local council and the Dogs Trust on these issues and recieve fabulous support from them too. A group of school children learning about animal Welfare Issues and the sheer amount of unclaimed strays in this country, over 100,000 in 2007 decided to set up S.O.F.A., Speaking Out For Animals, forever They have a online petition running at the moment to urge the government to bring in compulsory microchipping for every dog, something we at W.A.W.
